About me

I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Systems Biology Research Group, Department of Bioengineering at University of California San Diego (UCSD). I am focusing on systems and synthetic biology approaches on synthetic genome. I earned my Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering in August 2020 at Korea Advanced Istitute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and my B.S. in Molecular Biology from Pusan National University.

Systems Biology

• Deciphering of transcriptional and translational regulations using machine-learning and multi-omics data
• Systematic mining of regulatory elements for synthetic biology applications
• Elucidation of minimal genome of E. coli and disease-relevant microbial metabolism (gut microbiome)

Synthetic Biology

• CRISPRi screening for estimation of gene essentiality at genome-scale
• Synthesis of artificial genome and synthetic circuit devices
• Engineering of synthetic protein machinery metabolic pathways
